The #61 Roush Performance Mustang Boss 302R GT co-driven by Jack Roush Jr. and Billy Johnson won, as in first place, the Continental Tire Series race on Friday. They beat a host of BMW and Porsche teams. NEW CHEVY ENGINE FOR THE 2012 INDY CAR (IRL)
Chevrolet is jumping back into the IndyCar game with a new purpose-built V6 engine. Rules changes for 2012 are what opened the door. Previously the IRL series was dominated by Honda power. The new Chevy engine is an aluminum-block-and-heads' turbo charged, direct injection, V-6 that will displace 2.4 liters and perform double duty as a stressed member of the chassis. Hennessey announces 2013 VENOM GT SPYDER
We've already done a couple of Hennessey Venom stories this year but a couple of new facts of interest have become available. First is the 2013 model of the Venom GT will also be offered as a spyder. In the old days a spyder designated a roadster style car that had been stripped down to go road racing. In the Venom case it just means a removable hard-top and an extra $200,000 to the price tag.
