Marion Star was just wandering around the show when I ran into to her at Steve Baker’s car. There was an engagement ring on her finger but her guy was no where in sight. It was just the five of us: Marion, Steve’s car , my camera, me and a host of  watchers.IMG_5691

Marion had come to Asheville for the Hellbilly Hootenanny all the way from Homosassa Springs, Fl. That is a long way. She put RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) as her job.  Maybe she’s able to pickup some modeling gigs in central Florida to augment RVT salary.IMG_5679

Marion was the perfect model in any situation but with a Rat Rod everything sparkled, even Steve’s car. Steve had sanded and polished his original body 1929 Ford to a natural shiny finish. There was some debate whether it was better to or not to clear coat a sanded/ polished finished. I think  Steve had chosen not to clear coat and it doing quite well. IMG_5689

Rat Rods are interpreted in may different ways. Steve’s interpretation is the one I like best: well thought out, killer looks and could safely and with some dependability be driven most anytime anywhere. The car has a 350 c.i.engine and a 700R transmission. Steve and wife.IMG_5706
