There it was in my notes. ”We drove the car all the way for our home town.” in another section Amber listed their home town as Dallas. Dallas? We’re in Asheville N.C. and the Hellbilly Hootenanny is a great show but Dallas. As in the Dallas Cowboys, the old Dallas TV show, the Dallas Mavericks, the new Dallas TV show, the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders, the Dallas, TX. that’s about a 1,000 miles away? IMG_5427 IMG_5433

Then it hit me, there could be another Dallas. I went to Google and typed in Dallas N.C. and there it was, sitting about 120 miles due south of Asheville. Still that’s pretty could trip for a 65 year old car.

The car is a 1950 Desoto with only 51,000 miles and pretty much all original except for a lowered 3” rear end.  I don’t have Amber’s husband’s name so we’ll just call him husband for here on out. Husband said Amber had done the interior restoration and had helped with other items getting the car running well.IMG_5437IMG_5456

The Desoto has a three speed on the column and a 250 c.i. straight 6 cranking out 116 h.p.  Amber listed her occupation as metal fab. Sounds pretty heavy duty. Husband listed his car club as the Junk Yard Saints Car Club. And together they own a a 65 year old car that they can drive from Dallas to Asheville and back home the same day.IMG_5449IMG_5459IMG_5439                   ACAG
