ELIZABETH – She Started The Show Off Right — 2011GG

I was able to be at the show for Friday And Saturday. Elizabeth was the first girl I approached when I got to the show on Friday. She was a little hesitant at first but after several minutes of begging and pleading she said OK. After the first few pictures I could see that both of us were please that she had said yes. If I get a gorgeous girl like Elizabeth to pose first thing it takes pressure off for the rest of the show.

Elizabeth is posing with her boyfriends 1967, 327c.i., 350hp, 4sp, factory a/c Corvette Coupe. It appeared to be pretty much all original. You might note the Chevelle lettering on Elizabeth’s shirt. A 1970 Chevelle is the number one car on her wish list..

Chelsea – The Gold Glitter Was There — 2011 Spring Rod Run

When I was asking Chelsea to pose I noticed a gold glitter on the skin area above her black tee. It was very captivating. I was hoping it would show up the pictures but it didn’t. Check the sunlight area in gallery picture 4 and the sparkle may be slightly evident. Chelsea is posing with a 2000 twin turbo Corvette. The owner claimed 635 rwhp, which is very believable. This twin turbo is one of the neater installations I’ve seen. It was so good I’m substituting a picture of Chelsea to show it to you. Chelsea is from Blountville, Tennessee. Chelsea was very elusive about her occupation. After giving her several options she said server/waitress sounded ok. I’m thinking her real job is either very mundane or very glittery. I’m going with the later. Chelsea sparkled with good looks and personality from the top of her head to the bottom of her feet.

RHONDA — It’s a Z06

Rhonda’s third car of the day and she was still coming up with new and fresh poses. Rhonda is trying to point out that the Corvette is a Z06. I just got distracted. I can’t thank her enough!!

WHITNEY and the C6

Here we have Whitney with Corey Bales’ 2008 C6. The C6 has a grand total of 4,200 miles showing on the odometer. I am once again going to Wiki for details on the 2008 Corvette.

For the 2008 model, the Corvette received a new engine, the LS3. With displacement increased to 6.2 liters (376 cu in; 6162 cc),[4] power was increased to 430 hp (321 kW) at 5900 rpm and 424 lb·ft (575 N·m) of torque at 4600 rpm, or 436 hp (325 kW) and 428 lb·ft (580 N·m) with the optional vacuum actuated valve exhaust.[5] The previous Tremec T56 transmission on manual Corvettes was replaced with a new version, the TR6060, in model year 2008.[6] Manual Corvettes have improved shift linkage; the automatic model is set up for quicker shifts, and (according to Chevrolet) goes from 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds, faster than any other production automatic Corvette.[7] According to automotive review website New Car Test Drive, the Corvette’s 0 to 60 time is actually 4.2 seconds, faster than both the Porsche 911 Carrera and the Jaguar XK8.[8] From 2008 onward, steering was revised for improved feel and the wheels were updated to a new five-spoke design.[7]

Remember in the movie American Graffiti when Richard Dryfus’s character always just catches a glimpse of Suzanne Somers driving around the town in her white T-Bird. That’s how I felt as I got a picture of the beautiful lady as she was leaving the cruise-in her equally beautiful C5. There was time for one quick picture she smiled and said thank you. I’ll back to Cleveland and I’ll be looking for my American Graffiti lady.

2010 BORLA SPRING FLING

A short explanation, the Borla is the Borla Exhaust Inc. A couple of years ago Borla realized that they could save a lot of $$$ if they moved their manufacturing from California to Johnson City, Tn. I’m sure they got a steal on the large, beautiful, unoccupied building that they now occupy. It’s more than a building it’s a campus, the perfect setting for a car show. The show is open to all makes, models, and years of cars even a few imports showed up. The absence of any Borla employee participation in running the show was surprising. The show itself was extremely well run by the Carter County Car Club with all proceeds going to local charities.

My lead picture is of Christina, a University of Tennessee student and aspiring model. Check the end of the article for Christina’s post and MORE pictures of her and the C6 she’s posing with!!!!

CHRISTINA—Right Place at the Right Time

I had gotten up at 5:30 AM, driven two hours to the show, been working the show hard since 8:30, it had rained hard, it was now 2:00PM and I was tired. I knew though that I needed one more cute AmericanGirl and one more cool AmericanCar to make the article complete. I walked the show a couple of times and then I spotted Christina, and she said, ‘’I’d love to’’. Now I had an AmericanGirl and no car. It was still a little gloomy from the rain and Drew Beck’s yellow, 2008 Z51, Corvette, just stood out. Drew said ‘’OK’’ and the shoot was on. As it turned out Christina was an aspiring model and our little gig turned into a show into itself, gathering a nice crowd. After the shoot a female member of Drew’s Corvette club Vettes of the Smokies asked me “how come Drew’s Corvette was so lucky?” I responded “It was in the Right Place at the Right Time as I was”.

The Z51 signifies a Corvette that has been upgraded to compete in auto crossing and other road racing type events.

The upgrades cost approximately $1,500.00 and include the following:

Power steering up-grades
Engine oil and transmission coolers
Stiffer springs and stabilizer bars
Specific shock absorbers
Larger brakes with cross-drilled rotors
Specific tires
Performance gearing
Z51 specific, 6-speed manual transmission or performance axle ratio with automatic transmission

STEPHANIE and the C6

Stephanie and her husband Chris made the trip from St. Pete Fl. to show their beautiful C6 Z06. You can always tell the show guys they always have a rag in their hand (see gallery). As you can see Stephanie is gorgeous and knows how to pose. It’s a rare combination to find a great car, and a gorgeous girl who knows how to pose all in one spot.

CLASSIC GLASS CORVETTE CLUB Event

The CLASSIC GLASS CORVETTE CLUB of Marrietta sixth annual Corvette show was held Saturday, 05/09/09. It was a very well run show with a good venue. A good venue is easy access to non-porta potty bathrooms, shade, a place to sit down, and decent food at a reasonable price. . I’m always impressed by how hard these club people work to put on a show. I might suggest to the club since they had some extra room that they expand the show to include other types of car. After all it’s all for charity.
