SMOKY MT. MOPARS 2008 and 2009 ?????

2008 and 2009 ????, what’s going on? In 2008 I did a fairly good job of covering their show. In 2009 because a competing situation with a Pontiac show and I was not able to give the MOPAR show the time it deserved. So what to do? I combined the two years. Hopefully 2010 will bring better planning from the management of AmericanCarsAmericanGirls.com

The 2008 and 2009 SMOKY MT. MOPAR CLUB’S show was held at the Tennessee Smoky’s stadium parking lot. The stadium is located in the Sevierville/Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge tourist area. The turnout was unexpectedly good as many out of state MOPAR clubs and the Charger Forum people made this their destination for their outing. There was a great representation of every kind of Mopar ever made, even a Dodge ’03 mini-van. The mini-van was mine.

The members of the Smokey Mt. MOPAR Club worked extremely hard and put on a great show, all of the proceeds going to the Wears Valley Ranch ‘’A place to call home for children from families in crisis’’.

TRISHA, FAMILY and the SURVIVOR 2008 Show

Trisha is one of the more glamorous ladies I’ve had the privilege of photographing. In addition to the glamour Trisha is a mom to three children, Maegan, Richmond, Macey and wife to husband Scott. Scott was one of the hard working club members making sure the show was running smoothly. Their car is a ’76 Aspen R/T and is and will remain a survivor car. A survivor car is a car that is totally original as it came off of the assembly line and has had no restoration work done. For 2009 pictures of Trisha check further down in the article.

JOHN, PHILLIP and the ’70 CUDA 2008 Show

It was a jaw dropping experience both when I first saw the car and then again when I saw the beautiful detail work. The major components and mods for the car are listed in a picture in the gallery. I will say one thing 625 H.P./615 LBS of naturally aspirated power. The Cuda, John and son Phillip came in from Minnesota.

SUSAN, ROB and their blue CHARGER 2008 Show

I get some what envious when I run across a couple like Susan and Rob who share a common interest/hobby in their car. They have added and color matched the rear spoiler, front air dam, cross hairs, and mudguards, tinted the windows, and lowered the Charger one inch. I loved the way this car looked.

It’s interesting how a few mods can take a nice looking car and make it “BAD’’. Rob told me the go-fast goodies are coming next. S and R came in from Anderson, S.C.

Shawn, Tanya and 70 BARRACUDA 2008 Show

It was a hot, east Tennessee day at the show and Shawn and Tanya may have been the only comfortable people there. You see they run a sod farm in south central Florida. They were at the show to sell their numbers matching ’70 Barracuda Grand Coupe. According to Shawn there were less than 700 of this style car made. The Grande Coupe came standard with leather interior and air conditioning. This particular car has a 383 and a 727 torqueflite transmission.

Mr. MORGAN’S OUTRAGEOUS ‘06 SRT CHARGER 2008 Show

Mr. Morgan is Bill Hazen’s Charger forum call name. Accompanying Bill at the show was his daughter Whitney and grandson to be Aiden. Once again we’ll let the pictures do the talking for the car. Words just wouldn’t do it justice. Bill is an extremely affable, fun to be around guy. The crew is from Lexington, Ky. where Bill is a successful breeder of Morgan horses. Whitney was much like her dad having fun and goofing around with the poses. Where’s Aiden the grandson? Aiden is in Whitney’s tummy.

RANDY, BRANDI, and PLUM CRAZY 2008 Show

Brandi was with her dad Randy at the car show. Randy was trying to sell his numbers matching, ’71 Plum Crazy Dodge Challenger. For non Mopar people Plum Crazy signifies a very important Dodge color. Brandi was so sweet, so cute, and so photogenic. Brandi is a student from Sevierville, Tn..

GREG AND MOUNTAIN MUSCLE CAR 2008 Show

Greg is owner/operator of Mountain Muscle. He made a definite point to tell me that Mountain Muscle doesn’t build trailer queens; they restore cars for people to drive and enjoy.

Greg was a very quiet, unassuming person. He didn’t want any publicity on this day it was the club’s day. He spent about 45 minute with me showing me some of the more significant cars at the show. Actually one of the nicest cars at the show was Greg’s wife’s car a ’71 numbers matching Dodge Demon. The Demon came from the factory with a 340 c.i. and just about every option that could have been available.

AILYS and her ’07 SRT DODGE CHARGER 2009 Show

Ailys brought the mean looking black SRT Charger in from her home in Knoxville. Actually she was with her husband but he didn’t count because he was so sick he shouldn’t have been there. It was a brutally hot day and Ailys was a real trooper and hit some incredible poses and extraordinary smiles Ailys didn’t list her occupations but I’m sure it was something glamorous. The SRT is totally stock

BRANDON HODGE and his Tricked-Out DODGE MAGNUM 2009 Show

In his picture Brandon looks like a bad ass dude. In reality Brandon is a super nice guy in a big imposing body. Branda wasn’t at the show to show his Magnum but to promote is business, BMF Kustoms, located in Morristown Tn. Check out the pictures to see some of the stuff he’s done to his Magnum so far.
