Rod Run –2009

I’m going to use the opening comments I used for my 2008 Rod Run. It would be hard for me to improve on it. My 2009 coverage however was much larger.
2008 I took 97 pictures, featuring 2 cars and 6 girls. At the 2009 Run I took 207 pictures featuring 7 cars and 10 girls.
Pigeon Forge tn. host the Spring and Fall Grand Rod Runs. The Rod Runs aren’t shows, events, or competitions, no prizes or awards they’re just one big CAR PARTY. Thousands of people line their chairs and coolers along both sides of the ten mile mail road of Pigeon Forge and watch the continuous, unending, unending , three parade of every make, model, year, and brand of American muscle car. The weather was perfect, the atmosphere was super fun and the AmericanCarsAmericanGirls ere outstanding.

JORDON and the MYSTREY car

TAYLOR, her FAMILY, and her ’06 MUSTANG GT

Taylor and family left their home in Fair Play, S.C. at 6:00 AM driving both their ’06 Mustang GT and ’96 Camaro Z28. Their intent was to sell one of both of the cars at the Rod Run. I’m not sure what the contingency plans were if they sold both cars. The Mustang is/was Taylor’s car and Taylor’s dad Russ said it was too much car for Taylor. Here’s where it gets a little murky for me because Taylor seemed really excited about getting her car sold. I’m sure Taylor was getting another car but what could be better for Taylor than a red Mustang GT convertible. Mom, Bridget and brother Keelan also made the trip. Please note the ground effects kit on the Mustang. There aren’t any seams. That because Russ fiber glassed in all the seams, sanded and blended in all the paint. Pretty impressive!

ROUSCH SPEEDSTER

The Speedster is owned by Clyde Bales of Supertoys out of Chattanooga. I did some research on the Speedster and everything on Supertoys’ window sticker is accurate but they left out the best part. The engine is supercharged by a RouschCharger and makes 435 hp and has a five speed automatic transmission.

KAYLA and the SPEEDSTER

I was looking for a great looking girl to pose with the Speedster and I turned around and Kayla just about ran over me. She hesitantly agreed to help me but I could tell she didn’t think she was hot. Hopefully when she sees her pictures she’ll realize just how gorgeous she is. Kayla is from Burnsville, N.C. and is studying to be a R.N..

Jessica and her boyfriend came from Sweetwater Tn. ”To see all the pretty cars”. She’s hot and has natural posing ability. Jessica lists her occupation as bartender. I’m sure she doesn’t bartend in Sweetwater and I’m also sure where ever she bartends she makes good money.

HEATHER and Hasty’s Car

Heather and her boyfriend had come in from Cincinnati. Heather’s boyfriend made my day. As I was taking pictures of Heather with the cool cars he said ”Man I wish I had your job”. Heather is gorgeous and definitely has posing ability. I especially love the pouty pictures. Heather listed her job as Office Manager. All the cars in the pictures were for sale by Hasty’s Car Co. out of Bluebell, Oh.. www.hastyscarcountry.com. The Camaro and Nova are Yenko clones and the 2nd generation Camaro is as stock from the factory

ARVELL and ODELL COOTS

Arvell and Odell are brothers from London, Ky.. The really don’t look that much alike and Arvell is a Camaro guy and Odell is a Mustang guy. the dissimilarities end there. They both have taken the past two years building similar era muscle cars to show quality conditions. Both have taken the approach of keeping their cars near original but a piece of chrome here and there or new style wheels are ok. The 68 Camaro SS has the original but 396 engine and the Muncie 4 speed while the Mustang has the original but rebuilt 289 and 3 speed automatic transmisson. Both show cars were driven the Rod My kind of guys.

Once again I was on in the hunt. I needed a super hot girls to pose with Coots’s brother’s cars. I waited quite along time before Sarah came along . I asked her and her boyfriend Sarah would like to pose. She accepted and did these great cars more than proud.

MYKALA and the ‘34 Coupe

This is almost too good to be true. Mykala works the counter at the Advance Auto store in her home town of Galax, Va.. I’m sure she doesn’t wear this outfit to work. Mykala was beautiful, fun and definitely knew how to strike a pose.
