When it comes to car shows it’s hard to beat the small town Saturday night cruise. It’s a special world. It’s a pleasant step back in time. At the centered of it all you have the old court house, with a little pickin and grinin going on. The church groups are selling the hotdogs and hamburgers and the local high school band is selling homemade cookies. It’s clean, it’s safe with lots of laughs and smiles. Everybody knows everybody but strangers are welcome. And that’s just the icing on the cake., there’s tons of street rods, old and new muscle cars and even a few exotics. In addition to all this we have the AmericanGirls, and they’re at their cutest on a Saturday night.

Look up cute in the dictionary and might see a picture of Sue. Despite being a self professed tomboy she hit some really sexy poses with her husband’s 1969 Chevelle. Sue and her husband live in Crossville where Sue is a secretary at Tomboys of America national headquarters.

You saw it first on the pages AmericanCarsAmericanGirl.com, the Dynamic Duo of John and Robin Allen. The 1969 Z28 is the real deal it’s no clone. The 302 engine is sitting in the garage in favor of a more streetable 350. The 2010 SS comes standard from the factory with a LS3 engine generating 426 HP. I was fortunate I caught the duo when I did. As soon as I finished the shoot of the Camaros, with John in the Z28and Robin in the SS, the duo was heading home to Etowah Tn. before the cover of darkness

I caught Christian mysteriously wandering the cruise by herself. I say mysteriously because she was by herself. This girl is really, really attractive, intelligent, personable, and loved muscle cars. Her ultimate car would be a 1968 Camaro fixed just the way she wanted it. Christian lives in Crossville and is dietitian. It was about dinner time and I asked her what would be the healthiest thing to eat at the cruise. Her answer “Anything it’s Saturday night.’’ I call that the perfect answer.

Sometimes you’re good, sometimes you’re lucky, and then sometimes you get double lucky. On this night I got double lucky. First I meet up with the affable Mountain Shadow Cruiser Car Club and then I met up with Danielle. Danielle is from Crossville and currently is a pre-med student at the University of Tennessee. She was escorted at the show by her boyfriend. The pictures of Danielle are with the various vehicles of the M.S.C.C.C. members

MELEA and the WILD ‘’37 FORD

It was late in the day and I must have been tired when I caught up with Melea and Ronnie Tipton’s ’37 Ford. These were two great subjects and I seemed to have missed on every picture. I went ahead and posted both subjects deserve recognition. I loved the looks of the ’37 Ford and truly admired Ronnie for putting a state of the art LSX drive train in his beautiful car. Ronnie, with help from his son, did all the work themselves to build this beautiful car. Note the chromed brake rotors.

AUTUMN at I-40 Drag Way –

As the sun set most show participants headed for home, much earlier than I expected. So I headed over to the I-40 Drag Way and caught some action. There I was able to meet up with Autumn and Autumn’s husband’s race car. The couple call Rock Island, Tn. their home where Autumn is a teacher. All I know about the car is that it has a Chevy aluminum small block, with a supercharger that the hubby uses to go bracket racing.
