A short explanation, the Borla is the Borla Exhaust Inc. A couple of years ago Borla realized that they could save a lot of $$$ if they moved their manufacturing from California to Johnson City, Tn. I’m sure they got a steal on the large, beautiful, unoccupied building that they now occupy. It’s more than a building it’s a campus, the perfect setting for a car show. The show is open to all makes, models, and years of cars even a few imports showed up. The absence of any Borla employee participation in running the show was surprising. The show itself was extremely well run by the Carter County Car Club with all proceeds going to local charities.
My lead picture is of Christina, a University of Tennessee student and aspiring model. Check the end of the article for Christina’s post and MORE pictures of her and the C6 she’s posing with!!!!

RITA and ELEANOR and Everything Else

When Rita accepted my invitation to pose with her and her husband’s Mustang I had no idea all how many different stories would surface.
Rita was sexy, photogenic, and nice. While she did not list any occupation on my questionnaire but it’s safe to say she could have put wealthy.
The Mustang was not any ordinary Mustang. It was a 1968 Mustang GT Eleanor recreation built by AutoWorks.as their 2009 SEMA show car. The Eleanor designation is from the movie Gone in 60 Seconds staring Nicholas Cage. Rita’s husband John bought the car at the 2009 Palm Beach edition of the Barrette-Jackson Auction.
Their home is Dahlonega, GA and the Borla Spring Fling was their first stop on a multi state car show tour that will take them as far north as Michigan and as far west as Pueblo Co. The tour is being taken in an RV that is nearly as long as the state of Tennessee and Eleanor’s trailer is bigger than most RVs
Rita’s husband is John Maffucci, a well know figure in the Ford car and F100 world as both a driver and builder. Google in John Maffucci or his business’s name RPM Ranch for details.

CHELCEA to the Rescue

Many times the AmericanGirls are related to the AmericanCars in some manner as were Rita and Brittany in the above posts. Sometimes I find a great AmericanCar and no AmericanGirl is related or remotely in sight. Such was case with this stunning 2007 Black Jack Mustang, more on the Black Jack in a later post. Luckily it only took a few minutes to run into Chelcea, she was handing out fliers for a company called Magdana. Chelcea is super cute, smart, nice, and was a natural poser, what a combo. She has the common occupation of student/waitress. Chelcea has migrated from Orlando, Fl to Jonesboro, Tn. FYI—Jonesboro is the oldest town in Tennessee and cool pace to visit.

DID I TELL YOU IT RAINED?

It rained hard for about thirty minutes around lunch time. The crowds retreated to their tents or cars. Nobody pulled up stakes and left. Soon after the rain subsided the sun came out and things were lovely.

CHRISTINA—Right Place at the Right Time
June 29, 2010 by tom · Leave a Comment
I had gotten up at 5:30 AM, driven two hours to the show, been working the show hard since 8:30, it had rained hard, it was now 2:00PM and I was tired. I knew though that I needed one more cute AmericanGirl and one more cool AmericanCar to make the article complete. I walked the show a couple of times and then I spotted Christina, and she said, ‘’I’d love to’’. Now I had an AmericanGirl and no car. It was still a little gloomy from the rain and Drew Beck’s yellow, 2008 Z51, Corvette, just stood out. Drew said ‘’OK’’ and the shoot was on. As it turned out Christina was an aspiring model and our little gig turned into a show into itself, gathering a nice crowd. After the shoot a female member of Drew’s Corvette club Vettes of the Smokies asked me “how come Drew’s Corvette was so lucky?” I responded “It was in the Right Place at the Right Time as I was”.
The Z51 signifies a Corvette that has been upgraded to compete in auto crossing and other road racing type events.
The upgrades cost approximately $1,500.00 and include the following:
Power steering up-grades
Engine oil and transmission coolers
Stiffer springs and stabilizer bars
Specific shock absorbers
Larger brakes with cross-drilled rotors
Specific tires
Performance gearing
Z51 specific, 6-speed manual transmission or performance axle ratio with automatic transmission

2007 ROUSH STAGE 3 BLACK JACK MUSTANG
June 28, 2010 by tom · Leave a Comment
This is #3 of 100, 2007 Roush Stage 3 Black Jack Mustangs which makes it a very rare car. Here’s basically what happens. A brand new Mustang is set to the Roush facility where the Mustang will be modified and upgraded. The engine has strengthened internals and then a Roushcharger is bolted on top to make 430 HP, an upgrade of 125 HP over a stock Mustang GT. A seven piece aero kit plus handling and braking upgrades give this Mustang a true track ready performance and look. You gotta love the Lambo doors that this owner added to his Black Jack. The owner and I miscommunicated and I failed to get his name and particulars. The picture is of the owner and his son. They were Black Jack fanatics.
