NORA, HUSBAND and their 1965 Shelby GT350 – Mustnags of Memphis

Their Shelby GT350 clone was extremely nice. Usually you don’t see a guy this young doing this kind tasteful well thought out car. It stands out because of its simplicity, if that makes any sense. Their GT has a 289ci engine with a mild cam, all new interior, 4 sp, and coil over suspension,

The original 1965 Shelby GT350 featured 306 hp courtesy of its modified K-code 289cid V8 engine. This was 35 horses more than that offered in the standard 289cid engine. The car also featured a Holly carburetor, Cobra valve covers, and a special Cobra hi-rise intake manifold. It also featured a four-speed manual transmission and side-exhaust pipes fitted with two-inch Glasspak mufflers. Most notably, the 1965 GT350 had no rear seat. This was because SCCA B Production requirements only permitted two-seater cars. In its place was a fiberglass floor, with a spare tire mounted beneath the rear glass. The 1965 Shelby GT350 came in one color, Wimbledon White (with black interior). In addition, all GT350s featured rocker panel stripes touting the GT350 name.

In all, only 562 Shelby GT350s were produced in 1965, making this a car highly sought after by collectors. Of those produced, 516 were made for the street, while 37 “GT350R” models were built exclusively for road racing.

A 1964 Chevy Impala

This car belongs to Ron Letsinger of Kingston, Tn.—kind of. The story Ron told me was that he bought the car from the original owners and has not titled it yet; thinking that the car will be worth more if the next owner will be buying the car from the original owner. Good luck Ron. The car has a 327c.i./300hp engine with a power glide transmission. The paper work shows that original owner traded a 1957 Bel Air convertible for the car. I hope this shows up on the picture. The Impala is in pristine condition. The only thing that makes the Impala look better is Whitney behind the wheel

ALI —- The 2010 Smokin the Water’s MISS FIRECRACKER

Yes ladies and gentleman luck strikes for AmericanCarsAmericanGirls.com. I approached Ali and her parents as they were taking a quick look at the car show on their way to the main festivity. I had no idea Ali was a celebrity. I ask Ali and Ali’s parents about pictures for AmericanCarsAmericanGirls.com and everyone said ok. After all the pictures were taken did I learn the good news that Ali was the 2010 Smokin the Water’s Miss Firecracker. I also learned that Ali is a student Kingston High School and is all of fifteen years old.

1970 Dodge Challenger T/A 340 6 pack

Ali is posing with Tommy Austin’s very special 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A 340 6 pack. This is a very special and interesting car because 1970-was the only year that the Dodge Challenger T/A was made. Dodge made it in order to race in the Sports Car Club of America’s Trans American Sedan Championship Dodge built a street version of its race car which it called the Dodge Challenger T/A . Although the race cars ran a destroked version of the 340, street versions took the 340 and added a trio of two-barrel carburetors atop an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, creating the 340 Six Pack. Dodge rated the 340 Six Pack at 320 bhp. It breathed air through a suitcase sized air scoop molded into the pinned down, hinged matte-black fiberglass hood. Low-restriction dual exhausts ran to the stock muffler location, then reversed direction to exit in chrome tipped “megaphone” outlets in front of the rear wheels

The ECDBA racing is the main event at Smokin the Water. The boats race a ¼ quarter mile and use out-board motors. There several classes depending on the engine regulations, hull design and over all weight of the boat.  The out board motor brands used are Mercury, OMC, and Yamaha. I have one video of a race. Check it out on my video on the Home Page.

A great Rad Rod with a very impressive turbo-charged small block Chevy. I made a big mistake by not talking to the owner so that’s all I know. Look at the exhaust setting next to the turbo-charger in front and on top of the engine and I didn’t get to hear him start it up. I think Amazing Amanda must have gotten into my head

2010 — A JUNE EVENING CRUISE-IN

| More

I’ve been to a couple of Evening Cruise-Ins and the problem is cars start to gather about 3:00pm and start leaving around 7:00pm. If it were up to me I would start gathering at 7:00pm and leave at 10:00pm but it is what it is so get there early. Despite the time thing small town evening cruise-ins are the best. This particular cruise-in took place in Cleveland, Tn. It’s a monthly event held on the fourth Saturday night of each month of warm weather. If you’re a car enthusiastic it’s a great place to be.

I’m an opposite professional photographer. Pros get paid to take pictures, I pay to take pictures. I’m about $3,000.00 down on this web site. Her Dad is going to look at these pictures and say what the heck does this guy think he’s doing.  Anyway Sarah is gorgeous and as far as I’m concerned any idiot could take a great picture of Sarah. I’m living proof.

The 1965 Cobra is owned by Mark Cubberly. He has had the car for about two months. The Cobra was built by Superformance. Superformance is licensed by Carroll Shelby to build the Cobra replicas. The cars are built in South Africa and then shipped to America sans the engine. For specs on the car see the gallery page
