MEGAN WITH A 1956 CHEVY THAT HAS A GREAT STORY — 2011 S.C.Nats.
The 1956 Chevy that Megan is posing with was bought by Dale McPherson’s dad brand new in 1956. Dale inherited the Chevy from his dad in 1972 and has it ever since. I did not get to talk to Dale about the car but it is evident from the pictures that upgrades to the car have been made through the years: power windows, power seats, speakers and lots of chrome under the hood.
Megan was at the show with her grandparents helping them run their booths. Megan was in charge of sunglasses. Megan was not 18 yet so her grandfather signed off for her to pose. My thanks to granddad. Megan was super cute and super fun to be around. Megan listed her occupation as “Dance”. We’ll just assume that means she is on her high school’s Dance Squad.

IT WAS A FIRST FOR www.AmericanCarsAmericanGirls.com — 2011 S.C.Nats.

It’s a first for ACAG. We covered the same car two years in a row. It’s pretty easy to do. Michael Payne’s 1981 Z28 Camaro is just so nice. It stands out even among all the 1st and 5th gen Camaros, Chevelles Corvettes and Tri-5s. The Camaro looks brand new and the color combo is a killer. Michael got the Z28 when he was sixteen and he and his father had it fully restored two years later. The Camaro has a GM 350 crated engine, Edlebrock intake and carb, Hookers headers, 2 ½” Flowmasters, 350 trans and 4.10 gears. Sans some chrome engine dress-up parts the rest of the Camaro is original. The red interior was a one year option and very rare. For pictures of the interior go to SAMANTHA GIVING DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS post. In addition to his Camaro and 454 truck, Michael is working on restoring a 1981 turbo-charged Pontac T/A.
Will it be three in-a-row for ACAG and the 1981 Z28 Camaro? I hope so!
Thanks to Samantha.

HENRY HIGGINS – ELIZA DOOLITTLE – 1,600 HORSE POWER — 2011 S.C.Nats.
Which of the two above titles best go together?
If you picked Henry Higgins and Eliza Doolittle you aren’t totally wrong. Henry Higgins and Eliza Doolittle are the two main characters Lerner and Loewe’s iconic Broadway musical My Fair Lady. But hey, AmericanCarsAmericanGirls.com isn’t about Broadway musicals.
If you picked Henry Higgins and 1,600 Horse Power you would be totally right. Pictured we have Henry, wife Sharon and their 1,600hp Chevy. They have 0wned the 1953 Chevy for seventeen years and had a frame off restoration that took five years. The convertible is powered by a blown 588 c.i. big block that makes 1,600hp with a 5sp manual transmisson.
While Henry Higgins can be a fictional character in a Broadway. The real Henry Higgins is a real car guy that did ALL the work himself to make his 1953 Chevy what it is today.

MEGAN WITH A WILD BERRY — 2011 S.C.Nats.
November 6, 2011 by tom · Leave a Comment
The Wild Berry is actually the Tim Hopper’s very nicely done 1966 Chevelle SS. The Chevelle had a full frame off restoration 13 years ago. Tim wisely chose a Chevy big block and 4 sp combination to power the Chevelle. He also has added an A/C for a little comfort while cursing the the hot southern summers required to ripen a Wild Berry.
More pictures and info on Megan in a later post.

I Needed a Girl Named WENDY At The 2011 Spring Rod Run!
May 12, 2011 by tom · Leave a Comment
The weather at the 2011 Spring Rod Run was a player. Friday night brought an inch of rain and early Saturday morning was overcast, cold and a little WINDY. I got to Pigeon Forge, Tn. around 10:00AM and the sky was clearing and the sun was warming things up but the WIND was getting stronger. Hopefully by now you’re getting the WINDY thing. The WIND was really strong and I have featured some of the girl’s pictures with their hair is blowing in the WIND. It actually looks pretty cool. The sun and warmth held on until around 3:00PM when the sky clouded up, the WIND stayed strong and it got cold. Luckily for me I had all the stories and pictures I needed and headed home

MELANIE?? AND CHEVY SSR?? — 2011 Spring Rod Run
May 11, 2011 by tom · Leave a Comment
Melanie did not divulge any info about herself other than her very, pretty face and wonderful cleavage. We can only leave a question mark.
The Chevy SSR is also a question mark. Why would GM build a two passenger, convertible, 4,800 lbs, $40,000, low towing capacity, limited carrying capacity truck? Well unfortunately for GM they didn’t build very many, only about 25,000 units over the three year life, 2004-2006,. The SSR is heavy on the wow factor and very low on the why factor.
Even the name, SSR- Super Sport Roadster is a question mark. It’s a truck, kind of.

LISA The Best Money Could Buy
Lisa and Lisa’s husband were having an off weekend. Lisa had hurt her knee and broken her foot in a recent car wreck and Eric had burned the transmission in his 1971 Dodge Duster and couldn’t compete in the RTTH. Eric saw me photographing another AmericanGirl and asked if I would ask Lisa to pose for AmericanCarsAmericanGirls. He thought it would give her a boost. It took me a while to find Lisa but when I did I knew that once again AmericanCarsAmericanGirls had gotten lucky. Lisa was not only beautiful but also had great cleavage. Here’s where the story really starts to gets good. Lisa and I are getting ready to get some shots and I ask her ‘’Is it ok with you if we get some cleavage shots’’ and Lisa says ‘’Sure, that’s why I bought them’’. Lisa and I had a great time during the shoot and hopefully Lisa and Eric had even a better time that night.
Lisa is posing with Darrin Cutter’s 1964 Chevy Malibu convertible The Malibu has a 327 c.i. Chevy, Tremec 5spd, and RideTech suspension components. Darrin’s dad bought the car in 1966 and been in the family ever since.

TAMMIE–It was Jersey Shore kind of thing
August 4, 2010 by tom · Leave a Comment
Tammie and her husband, Frank, drove their pristine 2010 SS Camaro from their home in Princeton, W.V. As you can see in the gallery page they have named the car ‘’The Situation’’. Tammie and her husband kept talking about Snookie. They said you had to watch the show to understand.
Here a couple of paragraphs from Wikipedia which gives details and specs on the 2010 SS Camaro.
On July 21, 2008, GM officially unveiled the production 2010 Camaro.[28] It was made available as a coupe in five different trim levels; the LS, 1LT, 2LT, 1SS, and 2SS. The LS and LT trim levels are powered by the 3.6 L (3,564 cc/217 cu in) GM LLT V6 producing 304 hp (227 kW) at 6400 rpm and 273 lbf·ft (370 N·m) at 5200 rpm. The SS with manual transmission is powered by the 6.2 L (6,162 cc/376 cu in) GM LS3 V8 producing 426 hp (318 kW) at 5900 rpm and 420 lbf·ft (570 N·m) at 4600 rpm while the SS with automatic transmission is powered by a new variant of the LS3 called the GM L99 which produces 400 hp (300 kW) at 5900 rpm and 410 lbf·ft (560 N·m) at 4300 rpm. This new L99 V8, not to be confused with the earlier LT-series L99, uses Active Fuel Management which enables the engine to run on only four cylinders during light-load driving conditions, such as highway cruising, to improve fuel economy.
Other features include a fully independent four-wheel suspension system, variable-rate power steering, four-wheel disc brake systems standard on all models (four-piston Brembo calipers on SS models), a StabiliTrak electronic stability/traction control system, Competitive/Sport modes for the stability system offered on SS models, launch control on SS models equipped with the six-speed manual transmission, and 6 standard air bags that include head curtain side-impact air bags and front seat-mounted thorax side air bags. An RS appearance package is available on LT and SS trim levels which include HID headlamps with integrated halo rings, spoiler, and RS-specific taillamps and wheels. Rally and hockey stripe packages were made available in several colors as well.

2008 SPRING ROD RUN
February 19, 2010 by tom · Leave a Comment
The 08 Spring Grand Rod Run was my very first AmericanCarAmericanGirls event coverage. While I did make my share of rookie mistakes by not doing enough car coverage I think I made up for those mistakes by having great girl coverage.
Pigeon Forge Tn. host both the Spring and Fall Grand Rod Runs. The Rod Runs aren’t shows, events, or competition, no prizes or awards they’re just one BIG CAR PARTY. Thousands of people line their chairs and coolers along both sides of the ten mile main road of Pigeon Forge and watch the continuous unending, three day parade of every make, model, year and brand of American muscle car. The weather was perfect, the atmosphere was super fun and the AmericanCarsAmericanGirls were outstanding.
A quick note to the Ford and Mopar guys. My apologies. Your brands did not get equal coverage at this event. I’ll make up for this at later events.

NIKKI
February 9, 2010 by tom · Leave a Comment
Talk about beginner’s luck it was Nikki. Nikki’s from White House Tn. and was at the Rod Run with her mom, dad, and brother. They were all enjoying the atmosphere and trying to sell their gorgeous 1972 Olds 442. After an initial picture of Nikki with the top up 442, the whole family enthusiastically offered to take the 442’s top down. I guess they thought it would make the 442 and Nikki look better. Nikki didn’t need any help.
Nikki works in an administrative position for the town of White House Tn.. I personally think that if the citizens of White House had any sense they would make Nikki mayor.
