THERE WAS A SUICIDE AT THE RUMBLE — 2011 Rumble

I’m happy to report there was at least one suicide at the 2011 Rat Rod Rumble. In the Rat Rod world a SUICIDE front end is a Rat Rod with no front brakes. In the lead pictures we have Billy Shelton working working 1926 Dodge. Note the lack of any front brakes. Billy’s Dodge has a small block Chevy, 350 transmission,1951 Olds dash and rear end. We also have a picture of Billy with his girlfriend Kandi as they fill in the details about the Dodge. They had camped out at the Rumble.

MELISSA and The RAT ROD: It was like DEVINE INTERVENTION –2011Spring Rod Run

Devine Intervention is an embellishment at best; in reality I just got lucky again. Rat Rods are not just a unique car phenomenon, they even have there own unique fashion. So what are the of being at a car show that  covers hundreds of acres, has thousands of people, has one Rat Rod, one hot Rat Rod girl and me and we all intersect at the same point and time? Maybe I slipped into the eleventh dimension. This dimension is known by the String Theory physicists as the Lucky Car Devine Intervention dimension

Melissa hesitated at first but after my extensive begging she agreed to pose. The world needs to see a gorgeous girl.

I’m just reviewing my November 2010 issue of HOT ROD magazine and the feature article is about Rat Rods. The article gives a history of Rat Rods and discusses their new found popularity. I discovered Rat Rods at the 2009 Spring Rod Run and subsequently covered the 2010 RAT ROD RUMBLE. RAT RODS are AWESOME!!

 I suggest you get your hands on a November 2010 HOT ROD or better yet visit or revisit the www.AmericanCarsAmericanGirls and read the 2010 RAT ROD RUMBLE article.

The Brazilian GP is tomorrow. I know  they’re not AmericanCars but it’s great racing with the Red Bull Renault vs. the McClaren Mercedes vs. Ferrari. at a watchable 11:00am EST.

AMBER: The RAT ROD RUMBLE’S official FLAG GIRL

When I approached Amber about taking some pictures I thought she was just another gorgeous girl. As it turned out she was a celebrity; the Rumble’s Official Flag Girl. The actual flag duties were handled by an official of the 411 Raceway and Amber just walked around looking hooooooot!!  Amber’s listed her home town as Spring Hill, Tn. and occupation as gold analyist??.

DANIEL and his 1953 BUICK SPECIAL Daily Driver

Yep you read it right; this is Daniel’s day in day out transportation. It took Daniel six months of blood sweat and tears to get it on the road. The frame was built by Daniel. It has a custom front sub frame mated with a rear frame from a 1974 C-10 Chevy pickup. The drive train uses a 350 Chevy with the C-10 providing the transmission, drive shaft and rear end. The suspension consists of air bags at all four corners. Daniel says it cruises down the interstate just fine at 80 mph.

Chrissy had a beautiful, infectious smile but maybe a tad shy. Chrissy also lives in Knoxville. Match her name

Every guy at show gave Ashlee that long, god you’re gorgeous, stare. Ashlee too is from Knoxville. Match her name.

Laura is the founder and leader of White Lightnin Burlesque. I think confident-glamour should be her middles name. Match her name.

LUCKY ROY LENORD

The way I look at it Roy owes me. If I hadn’t been there no way would Roy would have had that much fun. But then again I probably owe Roy. His 1938 Ford was my inspiration to go ahead to ask the White Lightin girls for their help. The Rod was originally a four door that has been chopped 4’’, channeled 6’’, and shortened 20’’. A 1948 Chevy truck hood was pinched 10’’ and a dirt track car nose gives this Rat Rod its distinctive look. The Rod is powered by a Chevy 350 c.i. and four speed transmission.
